Harkham Wines - Debeyers Road, Pokolbin. 100% vegan & Kosher. Harkam wines is a family owned winery making a number of varieties, both red and white, without using any animal fining agents, no chemical additives, no added sulphites, and in some wines, no additions at all. Purchase wine through the order form on their website or by visiting their cellar door. The cellar door is open Saturday 10-5 and Sunday 10-4, bookings can be made outside of these times. Harkham also has accommodation on site at their lodge and a pop-up Latin restaurant open on weekends with a couple of vegan, and vegan friendly items on the menu.
Inner City Winemakers - Wickham, Newcastle. These folks make well crafted wine, two of their reds are vegan friendly. Call in to have a chat and pick a beautiful, vegan friendly wine for your celebrations or as a gift for a loved ones.
Kurrajong Vineyard - Hermitage Road, Belford. All wines made after 2011 are vegan from this vineyard and include a chardonnay, semillon, cabernet rose, verdelho rose, shiraz, cabernet blend, merlot and a shiraz temperanillo. Wines can be purchased through their website.
Lake's Folly - Broke Road, Pokolbin. 100% vegan. Lake's Folly is a boutique winery that makes two wines annually, a Chardonnay and a Cabernet Blend. Neither of these varieties use any fining agents. Their wine can be purchased through restaurants, by the dozen on their website and only at the cellar door when available. This year their chardonnay was so popular it sold out in a matter of weeks, most of their wine is sold through an annual mail order list.
Macquariedale Wines - Sweetwater Road, Belford. 100% Vegan & organic. All Macquariedale wines are vegan, and are named as such in the wine descriptions on their website. They also work to reduce the additives in wines, and even offer a vegan sparkling wine. Purchase wines through their website or cellar door. Olives, olive oil and organic garlic are also available for purchase. The cellar door is set amongst gardens and said to have some of the best views of the Hunter Valley.
Oakvale Wines - Broke Road, Pokolbin. Vegan Friendly. All of Oakvale's single vineyard and limited release wines are vegan, not using any fining process. Oakvale use natural winemaking techniques, handpicking, and organic practices in their vineyard and processes. They're a small producer in the Hunter Valley. Wines can be purchased through their website or at their cellar door, which is open seven days. Oakvale charge a $5 tasting fee, the money for this goes towards their Meals on Wheels charity fund, they produce over 65,000 piccolos of wine for Meals on Wheels customers annually. Oakvale is also a pet friendly cellar door and will set your pup up with a bowl of water.
