Napoli Pizza Centrale has been pumping out piping hot, delicious and traditional Napoli style pizzas since opening it's doors on King Street in 2015.
They have been providing great, traditionally cheese-free vegan friendly pizzas since then as well, and now the menu is even easier to navigate that they've noted their vegan pizzas on the menu with a nice big VE mark.
There are three pizzas on the menu that are vegan, three with tomato bases so there's a great selection for you and a few vegan friends to gorge on tasty pizza.
Order the traditional Marinara pizza for a slice of simple perfection. Thin, tasty pizza dough is covered in a tomato sugo, garlic and oregano. The other vegan options include the Ortolana loaded with artichoke, broccoli rabe, olives and capers; and the Caponata with olives, roasted capsicum, eggplant, capers and basil. For large groups you can also consider getting a pizza-by-the-metre with one, two or three pizza types.
Let's talk about the crust. If you're a fiend for carbs you won't find a better crust in Newcastle. The pizzas are cooked in record time in the oven imported from Naples, resulting in a crust that is full of amazing texture; bubbly, crispy and chewy.
We're hoping that Napoli will take a squiz at the amazing desserts coming out of Newtown's Gigi for some dessert inspiration, because the desserts are very well loved by my omni family as a delicious way to round out a meal. Until then I love winding up with a delicious limoncello aperitif.
